Nordic Walking: The Best Exercise for Heart Health

Nordic walking showed the greatest increase in functional capacity compared to baseline at the start of the study.This is likely due to the upper and lower body muscle groups activated by Nordic walking.Nordic walking involves using ski poles (or walking sticks) as you move. This type activates the muscles of the upper body in addition to the muscles of the lower body. According to the respective International Federation, Nordic walking began as off-season training for skiers and has been around since the mid-1900s.
